This region is between the less known in Italy. Neverthless, perhaps just for this reason, perhaps just because the hand and the interests of people have not been able to pollute it with the exploitation usually to the modern society, it is remained one of the more genuine, frank and true regions of the Italian landscape.
With its network of parks and nature reserved, the Abruzzo region has created a structure of protected areas that safeguards 30% of its territory .

The Abruzzi has something completely particular: its color, its folklore, its local patina that appears on every step: in its countries, in its customs, its cuisine, its handicraft, its people, in its essence of genuine and veracious region.

Its landscapes and its people have to been studied and observed step by step, tasted with the same slowness and the same attention of who finds in his hands and under the own eyes something that seemed vanished and that instead is still extremely real and tangible.

The Val Vibrata territory whom Villa Rosa belongs to is situated in the province of Teramo, in the Northen part of the region; the tourist can here discovers its landscape and artistic heritage through “ la strada dei sette colli” which permit to value the hill's coltivations and the characteristic local producs how fresh and old cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, vegetables, home-made processed pork meats, the great wines of Abruzzo: Trebbiano, Cerasuolo e Montepulciano.

The favorable geographic position of the Abruzzi is an excellent starting-point in order to reach comfortably a lot of localities, in search of new and various emotions: the interesting Fortress of Civitella del Tronto, a little medieval town remained unchanged during the centuries, ca.35 km far from Villa Rosa; moreover ca. 70 km. away raises the highest mountain of the Appennines in the National Park of Abruzzi, "the Gran Sasso d'Italia" or the aerospace center "Telespazio" in the Fucino-Valley.

Other interesting places to visit are Teramo, Sulmona (especially known for its Confetti), Castelli ( town of the ceramic), Ascoli Piceno ( in the adjacent region Marches, that you can easly reach in superhighway) where the beauty and the atmosphere of the medieval time are incredibly existing. You may also join in well organized trips in Busses the National Park of Abruzzi (the green region of Europe), the Tremiti Islands, Rome and the Vatican etc.; all these destinations can be visited in one day only.
